Sao Tome America Petroleum Corporation (STAPET) commenced negotiations with Sao Tome & Principe (STP) government to evaluate hydrocarbon potential in the onshore/coastal shoreline of the West African Archipelago.
STAPET signed a contract with GeoDynamic Research - Italy, to carry out a 2DPSS (2D Passive Seismic Survey) on the Sao Tome & Principe Islands in the Gulf of Guinea.
STAPET, initiated and performed field work reconnaissance in anticipation of 2DPSS, to evaluate the country’s hydrocarbon potential in the onshore areas of interest.
The main objective of this GeoDynamic Research Geospectra IPDS Survey (IPDS - Infrasonic Passive Differential Spectroscopy) is to identify onshore prospect, including hydrocarbon subsurface pools.

STAPET’s Prospect Authorization License for Onshore and Coastal/shoreline of STP was signed by the National Petroleum Agency of Sao Tome and Principe, to implement the minimum work programme.
